“After more than four decades I can still say that I love this work.”
A fundraiser in metropolitan Chicago for nearly 44 years, Rob has served as chief development officer for St. Ignatius College Prep, Loyola University Medical Center, Saint Xavier University, The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired, the Cristo Rey Network of schools, Franciscan Healthcare of Northwest Indiana, and others.
He began his consulting practice two years ago, guiding capital campaigns, coaching gift officers and helping nonprofit organizations build strong, sustainable development programs.
Rob knows fundraising backwards and forwards; the art and the science, the technique and the nuance. He knows the value of the tried and true and the value of best practice today.
“Mostly because my early work demanded it, I’ve become highly skilled in major gift fundraising and have personally raised multiple 7-figure gifts. I understand that relationships are the essence of fundraising success.
“The foundation of my work with clients? Helping donors know the impact of their gifts, and making them feel truly appreciated for their philanthropy.
“At many institutions I served we didn’t have the budget to hire experienced fundraising staff. As a result I became an expert in understanding what it takes to achieve fundraising success and growing those skills in professional staff. I mentor dozens of fundraising professionals today.”
